Megyn Kelly’s Menstrual Cycle

Show of hands, please – as we began the quest to find the next President of The United States, how many of you thought that would include a discussion of Megyn Kelly’s menstrual cycle?  And yet that’s where we find ourselves in the continuing saga of The Trump War on Political Correctness.

In the exchange of accusations following Thursday night’s debate, Trump said that he thought Kelly was very angry at the debate, that she had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her whatever.”

And that “whatever” is what everyone is currently up in arms about.

The republican establishment, that desperately wants Trump to go back to whatever he was doing three months ago, says he was making a stab at Kelly, that it was her “time of the month” and so she was a little irrational.  Trump says he meant that blood was coming from her nose and that only a deviant would think what he was being accused of.

Eric Erickson of RedState officially uninvited Trump from their big gathering in Atlanta this weekend, saying Trump’s remark was disrespectful of all female journalists and that he didn’t want his daughter in the same room with Trump.  Jeb Bush again demanded Trump apologize, as so many others have.

Now, if Trump had meant what his accusers are saying, he wouldn’t deny it.  That would be out of character.  No, he would admit it.  And then he would most likely double down.  Isn’t that what he’s been doing and what’s driving them crazy?

It doesn’t really matter, because this isn’t about who’s right or wrong here.  It’s about that apology Bush is demanding from Trump.  It’s about the party leaders banishing him from their pow-wow.  It’s about them being in a battle with someone they can’t control, can’t pay off and can’t shut up.  It’s about political correctness and what to do with someone who colors outside of the lines.

And so the Republican Party leaders, the guys who make the deals in those smoke filled back rooms, who lie to us over and over, are left to behave like petulant children, stomping their feet, demanding that Trump stop and telling him he’s not welcome at their parties.  They want to get on with their listening tours, you know, when they travel the country, shaking hands, kissing babies and finding out what the people think.  They want to tell us all the really great stuff they’re going to do if only we’ll give them our votes.

And there’s Donald Trump,the republican candidate who is beating all the others in the pack by double digits, who is persona non grata with the big wheels of the Republican Party, pulling back the curtain to expose them.

He’s not going to stop, at least not while they keep demanding he grovel and beg their forgiveness.  Because Trump knows  that Americans who have had to bear political correctness for years, who have been beaten down by it, made to pay for it, chastised for speaking against it, and live in fear of violating it, have finally found someone who unabashedly defies it – every single chance he gets.  They have found someone who they believe will actually build that wall on the southern border.  None of them care about Megyn Kelly’s menstrual cycle, they don’t believe for a minute that she needs a man to defend her, they don’t care that Jeb Bush and the rest of the gang are upset because their campaigns aren’t going according to plan.

They only see someone willing to publicly validate all the lies they’ve been told over the years and to speak in plain language about it to all comers, no matter who is offended or exposed.

And they’ll keep supporting him as long as he keeps it up.

Why Is Trump So Popular?

Donald Trump’s stump speech can be scribbled on one side of a cocktail Napkin.

“China and Japan are ripping us off.  We need a wall.  Politicians are stupid.  And I’m rich.”

That’s pretty much it.  It’s certainly not a traditional campaign.  So why is he suddenly so popular?

A record 24 million Americans tuned in to the Republican primary debate Thursday night and we all know that’s because of Donald Trump.  Have all these voters suddenly decided he’s their guy?  Do they envision him living in the White House, receiving foreign dignitaries, signing treaties and delivering the State of The Union Address?

No, neither do I.

As absurd as it may sound, this multi-billionaire who seemingly has little in common with middle class Americans has become their mouthpiece, their megaphone, their one-man army out to do battle with the corruption that is Washington, DC.  We can tap out angry emails to the politicians, call their offices and complain, and yell at our TV screens, but it’s all meaningless.  They continue to ignore us, lie to us, steal our money and mortgage our grandchildren’s future.

But they cannot ignore Donald Trump.  Not when he’s center stage at their big shindig, stealing their limelight and telling them on national TV all the things we want them to know about just what we think of them.

The politicians and their accomplices – their donors, advisors, flunkies and members of the media – are not happy and make little effort to hide that.  But they have no one to blame but themselves.  Like parents who indulge their child’s every whim and then complain that they have a brat on their hands, Trump’s popularity is a demon of their own creation.  They are responsible for Trump’s success.

And every time they attack Trump, call him a buffoon or question his intellect or ability, they are actually slinging those attacks at middle class Americans.  Because, at least for now, we are Trump.  And when he tells those politicians that they are the stupid ones and that they are corrupt and that they can’t get anything done, he’s speaking for every single frustrated, angry American who just wants to be heard.

That’s why Trump’s poll numbers go up every time they attack him.  When people vote for Trump, they’re actually voting for themselves.  They have found a way, absurd as it may be, to upset the status quo.

And it feels good, doesn’t it?

I don’t know how this is going to play out.  I do know that politicians won’t learn from it.  Fixing what ails America won’t come from them, at least not the ones we have now.  It’s simply not in their DNA.  I hope voters will learn from it.  I hope they see that they don’t have to accept mediocrity and corruption from our elected leaders and that they can and should speak up whenever they get the chance.  I hope they figure out that fixing America will come from the people.  Washington is simply not up to the task, nor do they have any interest in the endeavor.

For now though, I’m just going to enjoy all this.  The political class can’t control Trump.  He doesn’t need their money.  They can’t buy him and they don’t know how to shut him up.  And although they pretend otherwise, they know he’s speaking for us.

And that scares them most of all.

Note to readers:  Sorry I have been away so long.  I may share about that with you all at some point, but tonight I just have something to say.

 

I admit that I’ve been a little nervous about the rise of ISIS lately, specifically their threats against America.  But I’ve had a change of heart these past few days, mostly since hearing from the animal who decapitated James Foley.  I penned a letter to him.:

This is an open letter to Abdoola  Baboola al Babalouie, or whatever your name is.  I don’t have any interest in looking it up.  You’re not worth it.  It’s not your real name anyway. The one I made up has as much merit as the one you did.  Besides, I don’t want to make any contribution to your notoriety.

There’s a piece going around the internet, another open letter to you and your friends.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you can click right here to read it.  I suggest you do.  It’s attributed to a retired Marine, who has had enough of you and your threats to attack America.  He points out that there are over 21 million veterans in America, and every one of them will be waiting for you.

Well I would like to see that Marine’s 21 million vets and raise it a couple hundred more million citizens.  That includes all us chubby, middle-aged grandmas.   We’re armed.  And we’re pretty ticked off right now.  Are you game?

I don’t think so.  You hide your face.  You change your name.  You talk big but you butcher babies.  You’re nothing but a sick punk kid.  Heck, I have shoes older than you!  Someone should have spanked you and sent you to bed without supper ten years ago.  Maybe you wouldn’t be in this position now.

You’re just a coward.  You saw off the head of a man with his hands bound behind his back?  That makes you a subhuman barbarian, not a warrior, and not brave by any standard.  You fight like a girl.  No!  I take that back.  Even little girls have more backbone and certainly more humanity.

Were you too afraid to take on Foley mano a mano?  Couldn’t win a fair fight?

Probably not.

So, no, I’m not afraid of you anymore.  Because I see now who you are – a  coward, too afraid to use his real name, show his face or even fight like a man.  You’re only a tough guy when your opponent is too young, weak or restrained to fight back.  Without that advantage, you’ll most likely wet yourself and surrender in under ten minutes.

Americans won’t cower in fear of savages with some warped ideas about their god, and a sick lust for blood.  We simply won’t stand for it.  You can try it, but consider yourself warned.  We grandmas will be right here.  Come for our grandbabies and see how far you get.

Who’s In Charge?

It’s being reported this morning that President Obama didn’t know the NSA was spying on our allies.

He didn’t know about the Fast & Furious gun-running.

He didn’t know that the IRS was illegally targeting conservatives.

He didn’t know that they needed help in Benghazi.

He didn’t know the NSA was spying on all of us.

He didn’t know that his Obamacare web site wouldn’t work.

He learns of all these things in the paper, just like you and me.

I just want to know who’s in charge.

The Machine Is In Motion

I just deleted what I planned to post here today.  It ran way too long and I feared you would not stay with me to the end.

But it boils down to this:  Two weeks ago, our elected leaders held a “shutdown” of our government.  It was a fraud, and if not for their willful efforts to make life miserable for us, most of us would not have even noticed it.

All the while these members of our elite political class from both parties made Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee out to be public enemies one and two.  They called them ugly names – terrorists, jihadists, Nazis, wife-beaters and racists.  Even The President of The United States participated.  Those of us who supported the efforts of Cruz and Lee were, by extension, included as targets of these slanderous charges.

All this ugliness was because these two men led a small group of members of Congress who kept their campaign promises and tried to stop Obamacare before it was too late.

Think about that for a minute.  They kept their promises to their constituents and see how they were treated for doing so.

And now we’re living the nightmare of what they tried to stop.  In Washington lingo, it’s a “glitch.”  In the real world, it’s promises broken, it’s ineptitude and arrogance.

President Obama stands in the Rose Garden, puts on his best angry face and proclaims, “No one is more frustrated than me.”  It’s as though he is an innocent bystander who had nothing to do with any of it.  He had no idea.  He was blind-sided.

The big headline at The Drudge Report this morning said 300,000 Dropped From Health Plans In Florida.  That’s 300,000 of my neighbors who believed Obama when he told them they were going to be able to keep their health insurance that just got the rug pulled out from under them.

And it’s happening all across the country.  Real people.  Real lives turned upside down at the whim of lying politicians and their social experiments.

Obamacare was supposed to be all about getting health insurance for a relatively small number of folks who couldn’t afford it.  But it is ensnaring all of us who don’t have connections to the elite class.

The stated goal was never the real goal.  If anyone in Washington truly wanted to fix the problem they would have addressed the root, which is the high cost of health CARE.  But they didn’t.  They addressed insurance instead.  And what they created is simply a complex plan to redistribute the cost, and drive that cost so high that we would be unable to afford it, our current system would collapse and we would clamor for someone to fix it.

Then the real plan would be put in motion – the plan to institute government administered healthcare for us all.

This is what so many of us warned and is the only explanation for what we’re witnessing.  In an honest society where truth is valued, Obama, Reid and Pelosi would be laughed out of office for such a failure.  Sebelius would be in prison.  But we abandoned the truth in favor of politics, so they are indifferent.  This is no big deal.  And that’s because they don’t care if any of this works.  It’s only temporary, a stepping stone on the way to their prize – universal healthcare.

They want to rule, not govern.  They want to regulate us at will.  And positioning themselves between us and our doctors gives them all the power they need to control everything we do.

Cruz and Lee have been marginalized by the complicit media and there is no one left to defend our freedom.  We are alone.  We will now live by the rules we have allowed them to institute.  We didn’t pay attention to what they were doing and their task is just about complete.

We turned out backs.  We were not vigilant about our liberty.  And while we watched American Idol and tweeted about Miley Cyrus, they stole it from us.  The machine they built has been set in motion.  I don’t know how we stop it now.

Let’s All Watch Now

Early last week, President Obama was asked why he refused to negotiate with Republicans to put a stop to the government shutdown.

He said, “I have said from the start of the year that I’m happy to talk to Republicans about anything related to the budget. There is not a subject that I am not willing to engage in, work on, negotiate and come up with common-sense compromises on.”

He said the Republicans needed to stop standing in the way of an agreement.  “And as soon as that happens, I am eager and ready to sit down and negotiate with Republicans on a whole range of issues.”

Well, the shutdown is over, the Republicans caved and he has gotten what he wanted.

When do the negotiations begin?

Let’s all watch to see when that happens.

We were also told that Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and the other tea party Republicans were fools to stand in the way of an agreement because the shutdown was stealing all the headlines, and people  were not hearing about how bad the rollout of Obamacare was.

They said if not for the news of the shutdown, the media would be talking all day about the disaster the website was and how no one could register, much less get health insurance.

The nightmare of Obamacare would have been the headlines across the nation, if not for those tea party types.

Well, the shutdown is over and off the front page.  And the Obamacare rollout hasn’t gotten any better.

So let’s all watch to see how the media reports on it now.

Winners and Losers, Cowards and Fools

The government is open!

Woo hoo.

Happy days are here again as the massive machine that is our federal government gets back in gear.

President Obama and the other members of the progressive ruling class are free again to pretend they support our soldiers and veterans.  They can continue to impugn the character and motives of conservative lawmakers, as they borrow even more money in the name of our grandchildren and spend us into ruin and collapse.

They can lay claim to being the winners.  The losers of course, are the taxpayers – the average folks just trying to get by.  They’ll get no relief and will just end up on the hook for more and more as the debt grows larger and larger.

John McCain and the other Republicans who attacked Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Rand Paul are the cowards.  They claim to be conservatives but were too afraid to go up against that giant government machine in the name of the people who elected them.

The fools?  They are mostly the mainstream media – the water boys and cheerleaders for Team Obama, who don’t yet realize they are the useful idiots.  And they are those who still believe the media is telling them the truth, who believe that government can solve all their problems and are grateful this morning that members of Congress have stopped fighting.  They believe the absence of conflict signals everything is just fine.

The conservatives, the dreaded tea party members of Congress, claim they have no intention of standing down, that they plan to continue the fight.  That’s admirable, but how do they win?  They are a minority, surrounded by life-long political animals who are living the dream and have demonstrated that they are ready to go to any length to squash anyone who tries to ruin it for them.

So celebrate!  Eat, drink and be merry!  Like it or not, the government is back in business!

Oh, and next week?  Amnesty of course!  There’s no such thing as illegal in Washington anymore, no one is held to account for their actions, and it appears there’s not a thing to be done to change that.

The giant machine of government, that rolls along devouring its host, is unstoppable.

We Are Private Benjamin

Remember this classic scene from Private Benjamin?

Poor Judy.  She “did join the army.”  But she “joined a different army.”  She “joined the one with the condos and the private rooms.”  Her recruiter painted a rosy picture of the Army.  He lied to her, and she signed on the dotted line.

She ended up scrubbing the latrine with her toothbrush.

Our recruiter painted a rosy picture of Obamacare.

And in spite of warnings, a lot of people believed him and signed on the dotted line.  They re-elected him.

But we didn’t get that wonderful, efficient, low-cost healthcare and we haven’t seen increased wages and our economy isn’t getting better.

Millions of Americans remain unemployed and millions more are now working part-time jobs.  They are getting notices that their health insurance, which they like and want to keep, is being dropped.  Or their premiums and deductibles are being raised out of their reach.

Hospitals are laying off staff.  Doctors are getting out of the profession.    Business owners are running scared.  Our economy is in the tank, we are in debt so deep that my granddaughter will be paying today’s bills and our elected leaders demand the authority to borrow even more.

And those of us still fighting to get us out from under Obamacare before it’s too late are labeled arsonists, anarchists, terrorists, wife-beaters and Confederate soldiers.

Some are beginning to see the truth, but it looks like too little, too late.  It appears that Obamacare is here to stay.

So break out your toothbrushes.  You’re not getting the condos and the private rooms.

Get on your knees and start scrubbing.  We’re all Private Benjamin now.

Barricades Back Up

Hundreds of veterans and their friends went to Washington this weekend.  Unlike the illegal aliens who were welcomed to the National Mall last week with open arms, the veterans were greeted by police in riot gear, armored vehicles and even helicopters to keep an eye on them.

Complaining that they didn’t want to be used by politicians as political chess pieces, the veterans removed the barriers around our memorials, specifically the WWII Memorial.

They carried the barricades up 17^th Street and deposited them in front of the White House.

FOX News is reporting that the barricades are back up again this morning, re-erected by Park Service personnel that we’re told we cannot afford.

These people still need to be kept out of our nation’s capital.

I want to know who gave this order to put the barricades back up.

I want to know why the President of the United States, our Commander-in-Chief, doesn’t order a stop to this.

Circling The Wagons

There is actually some work getting done in Washington this week.  Yesterday there was more testimony before the House Oversight Committee concerning the IRS scandal.   You’ll recall that the IRS has been accused of singling out conservative groups applying for tax exempt status and targeting them with delays and intimidation.

Remember when Becky Gerritson from the Wetumpka Tea Party got her say?

It was heartbreaking to hear her story and the stories of other Americans who were abused by thugs from our federal government.  But those thugs don’t seem to have learned their lesson.  Yesterday, Sarah Hall Ingram testified before the committee.  Ms. Ingram was one of the big shots in charge when all this was happening.

How dare they!  But this is what your government thinks of you.  They abuse you, stomp on your Constitutional rights and when you complain, they laugh at you.  Yuck, yuck.  How dare you question their authority!

What a small, arrogant man is Rep. Connolly.  The good people of Virginia’s 11^th district should throw him out of office.  Unless of course they endorse this behavior.

And Ms. Ingram?  She went right along.  She thought Connolly was quite funny.  She ought to be fired, don’t you think?

Sorry to disappoint you, but she’s been promoted.  She’s now the director of the IRS Affordable Care Act office.

She’s now in charge of enforcing Obamacare.
