When a crazed person starts driving erratically and in a threatening manner in the general vicinity of our politicians, this is what happens.

ProtectPols2Law enforcement from multiple agencies turn out in numbers so great it’s impossible to count them all.

And that’s a good thing.  We want our leaders protected, don’t we?

But what happens when thirty or so crazed people start driving erratically and in a specifically threatening manner, singling out a man and his family on the road?

CricketI’m sure you’ve seen at least parts of the video.

IMG_3796.jpgI watched the whole thing.  It was more than six agonizing minutes.  I’m certain those folks were on the phone with 911.  Yet no officer ever appeared to help them.  Thank God that man, his wife and his two-year-old daughter are still alive.

It’s easy for a lot of these people

CongressGroupPhototo tell you that you have no need for one of these.

GunsAssortThey are surrounded by people who have them and are ready to protect them.

But the rest of us?  We’re on our own.  We don’t enjoy the same luxury of being surrounded by armed personnel charged with keeping us safe all day, every day.

Oh, and when some crazy-eyed politician limits the amount of ammo you are permitted to have, yelling, “No one needs ten bullets to kill a deer!” or some other irrelevant nonsense, ask him what you should do when you are outnumbered 30-1.

Don’t expect a reasonable answer.  He doesn’t need to carry any of his own ammo.  He’s got this.

I’m overwhelmed by the news again this morning, trying to catch up after the weekend and decide what’s most important to present here.  How much can I fit in a 700 – 800 word essay?  Should it be the Hell on Earth in Syria or do I assume you’ve been following along?

Should I write about how people at the NSA are spying on their love interests and former spouses  under the cover of national security, and that it’s been going on for years and those in charge know about it?

Maybe you would find it more egregious that the NSA is spying on our “allies” at the UN.

Perhaps you would be shocked to know that your elected representatives don’t know what’s going on there.

Have you heard about the latest murder of an elderly citizen by another thug with no humanity?

What about the training manual from the Dept. of Defense that teaches our soldiers that those who endorse individual liberties and state’s rights are extremists and likely members of hate groups?

Did you know that the Obama Administration added more people to the list of illegals that Border Patrol is instructed not to arrest and deport?

Maybe you don’t care about any of this and would rather know what happened at the MTV Awards.  Well, it seems that whatever was left of civilized society and the innocence of our children circled the bowl with Miley Cyrus’ performance.  You can look for the video if you want to watch it.  I won’t post it here.  I clicked it off halfway through.  Instead here’s the picture circulating of Will Smith and his family watching that performance.

WillSmithAnd I’ve only hit the high points.

As I said, I’m overwhelmed by the news.  There’s just so much out there.

And I can’t find anything good.

The news is unreal today, almost mocking.

Our new Secretary of State, John Kerry, has decreed that four State Department officials who were on administrative leave related to the attack in Benghazi last year are to be reinstated and will not be subject to any disciplinary action.

They had been placed on leave under former Secretary Hillary Clinton who had promised the families of those who were murdered in Benghazi that there would be a thorough investigation and justice would be served.  Yet, almost a year later, no one has paid any price.  Well, except the guy who made the video that everyone lied about.  He’s still in prison.

Mrs. Clinton, who famously asked, “What difference does it make?”  remains the front-runner in the race for the democrat presidential candidate.

The prosecution has rested in the case of Nidal Hassan.  The judge in that case has blocked any evidence or witnesses proving his motive, which we all know was jihad.  While shouting Allahu Akbar, Hassan opened fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 and wounding 32 others.

Because Eric Holder’s Justice Department declared Hassan’s act to be “workplace violence” and not a terrorist attack as it was, those killed, their families and the survivors have all been denied the honors and benefits that America legitimately owes to them.

The media breathlessly waits to see how Hassan, who is representing himself, plans to conduct his defense.

While the administration ignores the big, giant, red flags indicating that Hassan is a terrorist, we are told that the NSA is perfectly within its jurisdiction to troll our private lives because they have to find the terrorists among us.  It begs the question what they will do when they find one.

And there is the awful story of three teens who murdered an Australian man who was here attending college.  Reports are that the teens have admitted their guilt and say they did this for fun because they were bored.  The victim was white.  Two of the accused, including the one assumed to have pulled the trigger, are black.

Racial fires are still being stoked over Trayvon Martin’s death, so it’s no surprise that some are asking what Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have to say.  Allen West tweeted “Who will POTUS identify w/this time?”  This is a reference to President Obama comparing himself to Trayvon Martin last month.

These are legitimate questions but like those asked in the Martin/Zimmerman case, they get in the way of any attempt to expose and deal with the real problem.  Why do these young men turn to gang life?  How do they become so cold and indifferent to human life?

It is, of course, all about politics.  Honesty is run down by those who would exploit all this to push their agendas of gun control or the “social justice” du jour.

We’re now getting daily reports of Obamacare driving up insurance premiums, causing employers to cut hours or let workers go, and of course, the selected groups given more and more waivers.

All the while we’re told everything is fine.  Don’t worry, your government has it all under control and it’s all going to be great.  Sunshine, lollipops and unicorns.

The news is certainly strange today.

But none of it is real.

This is the new ad from fwd.us advocating for amnesty for illegal aliens.  It is about the plight of Alejandro Morales, an illegal immigrant.

That’s powerful stuff.  And who wouldn’t want such a fine, young man like Alejandro serving with our Marines?

That’s part of what gets left out of all this.  Young Mr. Morales, like Daniela Pelaez, the valedictorian and illegal immigrant who was the focus of amnesty promoters last year, is the kind of immigrant we all want.  As I have in the past, I challenge you to find a conservative who wants to send Alejandro “back where he came from.”  Yet that’s the narrative we’re always served up – conservatives hate immigrants and just want to deport everyone.

But how is it that Morales finds himself in his predicament?  We only have the limited information from the ad, but we know that his parents brought him here when he was a baby, about 18 years ago.  He and his parents remain illegals.  We assume his parents must have worked to support themselves, so they must have used fake documents in order to do so.

They had to work somewhere, and after all these years it seems hard to believe that no employer figured out that they were not who they said they were.  It’s hard to believe that their employers were not fully aware that they were illegal.  Most likely, those employers took advantage of this and paid them less than what they would to an American citizen or legal immigrant.

At the same time, our elected leaders have allowed this to happen by looking the other way.  For decades they have also acted lawlessly, by refusing to enforce our immigration laws, by allowing businesses to hire illegals, and by refusing to monitor and secure our border.

All along the way everyone involved has been breaking the law.  And now we are faced with Alejandro and what to do about him.

But why is any of this my fault?

Why am I the heartless bastard because I reject the current version of amnesty for illegals and demand our leaders demonstrate to us that they intend to enforce the law from now on?  Why am I the bad guy because I want them to secure the border, prove to us it is secure and then come back and we’ll talk about Alejandro? How do you arrive at the conclusion that I’m a racist and simply hate people who don’t look like me?  Why must I give a pass to the politicians and the rest of the lawbreakers who created this mess?

If it were up to me, Alejandro would not be in this position as all this would have been corrected decades ago.

And could we all admit that we’re not talking about giving amnesty to 20 million Alejandros?  Alejandro is the exception not the rule.  Those sneaking across our border in the middle of the night are far more likely to be gang members and drug runners than ROTC cadets.  Funny how we never see them on the commercials from the amnesty crowd.

Can we all also be honest enough to admit that if we pass this current amnesty bill, we will be right back here in 18 years, trying to figure out what to do with another Alejandro?

We’ve been here before.  Our leaders have promised to enforce the law and get the border secure, if only we’ll just let these folks stay.  We all know they lied.  And we all know they are lying now.  They have no intention of holding up their end of the deal.

Why are we even being asked to make a deal?  These politicians were elected to do a job.  They don’t get to say, “I promise to do my job if you’ll just do this.”  No.  Just do your job.  Enforce the law.  Secure the border.  Go after the companies that hire illegals.  Figure out who’s here.  Deport the criminals.  When you have proven that you are worthy of the trust of the American people, we can find a way to make things right for Alejandro.

You made the mess, so you clean it up.  And stop blaming me for it.

On Tuesday, President Obama’s spokesman, Jay Carney, gave us a peek into what the president would focus on in his current campaign tour.

Phony scandals?  Surely Carney was joking.

But he wasn’t.  Phony is exactly what Obama said the next day in an otherwise snoozer of a speech at Knox College in Illinois.

He took a lot of heat for the line.  But just to be sure that no one got the wrong idea and wouldn’t assume he just chose his words poorly, he doubled down and repeated the charge yesterday while speaking to another handpicked crowd of adoring fans.

Like so many others, I’m still picking my chin up from the floor and wondering which scandals he’s referring to.  Is he talking about Border Agent Brian Terry, who was killed with a Fast and Furious gun?  Or the hundreds of Mexican citizens who were killed with those guns?  Are they phony?

Or could he be talking about the four Americans murdered in Benghazi?  Are they phony?

Maybe he meant the hundreds of conservative groups systematically targeted illegally by the IRS and prevented from participating in our political system for two election cycles.

Or perhaps he meant the reporters whose phone records were “obtained” by the Justice Department.  Maybe he meant James Rosen, the FOX News correspondent who the same Justice Department falsely named as a co-conspirator in an espionage case in order to obtain access to his phone and email accounts.

Perhaps he meant the revelation that the NSA is collecting data on each and every one of us, storing it all away for some yet undisclosed purpose in the future.

Are these all phony?

Who paid any price for the death of Brian Terry?  Who has paid for the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty or Ty Woods?  The only person jailed was the guy who made the video.  Who ordered that video be used as a cover-up?  Talk about phony baloney.

Who’s investigating the IRS?  The American citizens who testified before Congress about how they were targeted and abused say no one from the FBI or anyone else has contacted them.

I’m angry.  Really angry.  All around me, I see the lives of Americans being destroyed.  Good, decent, hard-working people who have played by the rules all their lives are losing their jobs, their businesses, their homes and their life savings.

What’s being done about it?  Arrogant, overpaid bureaucrats hide behind their “rights.”

Except for a tiny handful of decent men and women, members of Congress go along to get along, spending borrowed money we can never repay, and covering up for the most outrageous and criminal behavior of those in positions of power.  Their number one concern is getting re-elected and staying on the gravy train of taxpayer dollars.  Meanwhile, they preach to the rest of us, call us cowardly racists and just too simple-minded to understand their grand plan.

Our president sneers at our complaints, and with his signature smirk he labels them phony.  He dismisses us and swats us away as one would a gnat on a hot summer day.

It’s spiraling out of control now folks.  Nothing is being done about any of this.  They’re simply waiting us out.  They’re waiting until we get tired of asking for answers and action.  Obamacare will soon hit us and that will do the job.  As we all watch our healthcare system implode and find ourselves with little access to medical care we’ll realize that they even have the power to take away our health.

What’s happening is all very real.  And a real price will be paid by real Americans.

They only things that are phony are the hollow words coming from our leaders.

Way back in 2010, Christine O’Donnell ran for the United States Senate for the State of Delaware.  O’Donnell was a tea party favorite and became the target ChristineODonnellof some fantastic stories at the hand of her opponents.

One of those stories was about a tax lien on her home.  It was alleged that she wasn’t all that bright and couldn’t manage her own finances.  And to top it off she hadn’t paid her taxes.  Why should such a person hold a position of authority?  It didn’t matter that the lien was not real.  She lost the race.

More information about that lien is trickling out now.  O’Donnell recently got a call from an investigator at the Treasury Department to tell her that some official from the State of Delaware had accessed her tax records improperly.  The date of that access was March 9, 2010.

Coincidentally, that was the same date that O’Donnell announced she was running for the Senate.  Wow, small world, huh?  But if that’s not enough for you, March 9, 2010 was also the date that the IRS placed the tax lien (for the home she no longer owned and didn’t owe any taxes on) into Ms. O’Donnell’s records.

What are the odds?

A Delaware official says the investigation into O’Donnell’s tax records was done properly, and says it was done on March 20, not March 9.  But he can’t provide any evidence or additional information as all their records of the event have already been destroyed.

I’ll give you a minute for that one.

We’ve learned in recent months that the IRS has engaged in a systematic effort to use its power to undermine the most basic rights of conservative Americans by way of denying and delaying tax exempt status for any groups associated with conservative values.  Now it appears the abuse runs deeper than we imagined.

Let’s engage in our own fantastic story for a moment.  Fast forward a bit to the presidential race in 2016. Obamacare is in full swing and, as planned, the IRS has access to all our medical records.  Their abuse of power continues unchecked.

The Republican Party has chosen Margaret O’Malley as their candidate.  She’s a rock-solid conservative and the first female ever in such a position.  With just weeks to go until Election Day, O’Malley is leading and looks headed to be the next President of The United States.

On an otherwise average Monday morning, the headline of the New York Times screams that O’Malley is mentally unstable.  The story reveals that The Times has obtained a copy of her medical records showing her history of being institutionalized for depression and drug abuse.  The associated criminal offenses are hinted at.  There are also records of treatment for a variety of STDs and a listing of multiple abortions – from the pro-life candidate.

O’Malley steps to the microphones and claims innocence of each and every charge, but she is unable to overcome the media frenzy.  She drops in the polls like a brick and is beaten by the Democrat Party candidate in a landslide.  Her reputation is left in ruins.

A couple of months later, as the new president is about to be inaugurated, The Times prints a retraction in two tiny paragraphs on page 32, below the fold.  They reveal that the IRS accidentally attached the medical records of another person to those of Ms. O’Malley.  Oops.  They still refuse to reveal the identity of the person who leaked O’Malley’s records to them.  The Justice Department quietly drops the investigation.

Do you think that story is too fantastic?  I don’t.  I think it’s right where we are headed.  Our government has been ruling against the wishes of the people for quite a long time already.  And now they are shutting the door behind them.  They are guaranteeing their power never be challenged by letting in only those who they trust.

Question them, challenge them or expose them and you’ll find the power they have claimed for themselves come down on you in a way you simply cannot defend.  If they can’t find anything “usefull” to discredit an opponent, they will simply make it up.  They’ve been doing it for years by way of innuendo.  Now they simply have to turn to their pals, conveniently positioned in the maze of bureaucracy they have created, to obtain “real” evidence for whatever fantasy they require.

Hillary Clinton says the verdict in the Zimmerman trial “brought heartache, deep painful heartache.”

While Eric Holder said people should be “respectful” his DOJ held a conference call with the NAACP, the ACLU and other civil rights organizations to ask for their help supplying any information to prove George Zimmerman is racist.  They announced that they were “aggressively investigating” the case and offered an email address set up only for tips about Zimmerman’s racism.

FL State Attorney Angela Corey, who prosecuted the case, called Zimmerman a murderer on air after the trial was over and he was acquitted.

Barbara Arnwine, director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law called the verdict “a travesty and miscarriage of justice.”

Jasmine Rand, one of the Martin family’s attorneys, said of the verdict, “I don’t think that they (the jury) properly considered the evidence. If they had listened to the evidence and if they had followed the law, then George Zimmerman would have been convicted of murder.”

Congressman John Lewis (D-OH) said the verdict “seems to justify the stalking and killing of innocent black boys and deny them any avenue of self-defense.”

Except for Lewis, all these people are attorneys.  All of them, including Lewis, have sworn to uphold the law in America.  They have a special responsibility to abide by and protect our legal system.

Yet see the things they say in public about a jury decision they don’t like.

Getting out of jury duty is a cliché and a joke that’s older than I am.  Most people don’t want to serve and often do so reluctantly.  It’s an inconvenience.  But this behavior from officers of the court and those who have sworn to uphold the law moves that reluctance to a new level.

The women who served as jurors in this trial are in hiding, just like the defendant who has been declared innocent of all charges.  They have been

Juror B37

Juror B37

threatened and are now living in fear that their identities will be exposed.

The race baiters and others who profit from civil unrest continue to whip up rage.  Our president remains silent.  Our Attorney General has launched a public witch hunt for information he already knows he won’t find.

Jury duty?  No thanks.  I’ll take the punishment for refusing.

It can’t be anywhere near the punishment that the women of the Zimmerman jury are now receiving for doing their civic duty.
